Data entry jobs involve entering information into a digital database and every business requires some amount of data entry. The job title is as stretched as are the ranging responsibilities. For example, data entry might be the simple input of reference numbers for mailing and delivery, or gathering and inputting results from a poll or questionnaire.
Getting a data entry job
Data entry is unskilled labour, so there’s normally no previous experience or qualifications needed to undertake the role. However, it is expected that you will have knowledge in basic maths and English, as you’ll need to be able to read and calculate (depending on the task at hand).
You will need a certain mindset for data entry, as jobs can be very repetitive while also demanding high levels of concentration. Somewhat luckily, data-entry jobs are normally temporary contracts and plentiful, so there’s always opportunities to see new places of work and deal with different projects.
